Silversurfer usage guide
The Silversurfer provides full RS232 capabilities and may therefore be used
for directly connecting a modem to the port or connect a null-modem cable
to another computer.
Before we point you to the programs and information files regarding the SilverSurfer,
we want you to pay attention to a few third party programs supporting the RetroReplay/SilverSurfer combo.

A RS232 Driver for the Silversurfer is available and
will be included in the distribution soon.
Contiki
due to the existance of the driver for CC65, this rather amazing Operating System can be compiled with
Silversurfer support.
What can you supply ? ... :)
The following pages contain information for those who where searching for a way to transfer
files to their C64 using the Silversurfer, aswell as for the coders who where looking for
a way to do crossassembling. People who can not find a decent nullmodem cable, or want to built
it themselves for whatever reason, will find the necessary documentation. Also if you wrote
some sort of serial program yourself, please have a close look these instructions, applying
a patch to your program will be no deal then.
RR and friend are the most needed supplemental program you will need for future RetroReplay/SilverSurfer
experiments. They already allow you lots of things, which you better explore. :)
BUT,whatever you do, we want you to know that connecting two computers with a cable ALWAYS can be harmful
in some way. We recommend you disable all powers before plugging around, to check connections TWICE
AND to ask on the MAILINGLIST whenever you are unsure about something !!!
Ok, get all your info in
Groepaz' wonderful world of serialism ...
